In this section, Make Every WomanCount (MEWC) has gathered initiatives that are happening in the local, national and international level related to Women in general and particulary African Women. The announcement section includes a range of activities from individuals, Organisations such as surveys, primary research and dialogues with policy makers, petitions, conference,  demonstration, opinion, Statement, Call for papers, etc..

The section aims to be a resource for all different types of opportunities to engage women in women’s rights issues.

 

 


Make Every Woman Count (MEWC) is pleased to announce the annual prize for the African Women’s Decade 2010-2020

This is the third year that the charity has awarded the prize to a woman and also to an organization that has made an outstanding contribution to gender equality and women’s rights issues on the continent.

We the Ministers of Gender and Women’s Affairs from African Union Member States met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 6th and 7th February 2014 to deliberate on progress made in the achievement of the MDGs and reach consensus to strengthen gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Africa Common Position on the Post 2015 Development Agenda.

Now in its 10th year, the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is designed for a woman journalist working in print, broadcast or digital news media to spend seven months in a tailored program that combines access to MIT’s Center for International Studies and media outlets including The Boston Globe and The New York Times.

Make Every Woman Count is pleased to announce that we were chosen by HP for the Black History month to recieve a £400 donation in support of our work using ICT to promote African women empowerment and rights.
