Source: Amnesty International Women’s organizations in Swaziland are battling to reform laws that treat women as second-class citizens. The government has failed to change these laws, despite repeatedly promising to do so.
The result is that women in Swaziland are not protected by the law and face discrimination that is permitted by law.
In this document Amnesty International calls on the government in Swaziland to ensure the urgent repeal of legislation that discriminates against women and for the swift enactment of legislation to protect and promote the right of all women to be free from all forms of violence.
