Source: Raising Voices Awarness is a critical step in creating change. It is the time to inform, agitable and create a stir about these issues, a time for people to stop and listen, to take notice and engage.
Remember that if we only talked about issues that people have heard before and in ways that they are used to, not many people would listen. Many people feel they have heard everything about gender, violence against women and HIV/AIDS. They do not think there is anything new. You will need to be willing to take some risks, to say anything in a new way. The SASA analysis of power will be provocative. You will make some people uncomfortable - this is good! In order for change tp happen people must feel unseasy with the status quo, with the way things are, and begin to question it.
