Mwingi North MP John Mati has warned rich businessmen and teachers against luring schoolgirls into sex.

Mati said for every unwanted pregnancy a man should be imprisoned.

He said last year more than 10 girls were reportedly made pregnant by businessmen and teachers.

Mati said it is a shame for parents to trust teachers with their children and the teachers end up ruining their lives. "Why should this happen? Such teachers should be imprisoned without an option of fine," he said. Mati was speaking yesterday during a fundraising ceremony at Kamuwongo Secondary School in Mwingi North.
