At least 224 women and teenage girls were tested during a free community breast and cervical cancer clinic.
The clinic was held at St. Francis Health Centre in Njeru town, Buikwe district on Saturday.
The exercise was jointly conducted by medical workers from Nsambya Hospital and members of Rotary International. It was funded by Centenary Bank.
Among the beneficiaries was Janet Nazziwa, 71, a blind resident of Buziika village in Njeru. She said she had felt pain in her breasts for the last 20 years, but had never tested for cancer.
"When I heard over the radio that a free clinic would be conducted here, I told my son to bring me," Nazziwa explained.
She was not diagonised with breast cancer.
