AN academy to train women and girls who drop out of school in vocational and life skills has been launched.
The academy, targeting women and girls in Bunyole in Butaleja district, is being supported by a Swedish Organisation, Livstycket.
Speaking at its launch at Rome Gardens in Kira town council recently, the deputy secretary general of the NRM and Bunyole Women's Association board chairperson, Dorothy Hyuha, said the women would be trained in human rights and leadership skills, design and tailoring and printing.Hyuha also received an assortment of items including sewing machines, laptops, materials for making uniforms, a printer, books and files from the project manager, Christina Batte.
Hyuha said the academy would be located at Budumba, where the land had already been secured.
