As post election violence spreads to the media, several women comprising members of the Women in Peace Building Network (WIPNET), Tuesday paraded the streets of Monrovia with placards denouncing all forms of violence in the country.
The group, comprising mostly elderly women, marched through the principal streets of Monrovia stopping at several universities and schools holding high their placards some of which read: "We want peace", "Say No to Violence".
Their spokesperson, Mrs. Cecelia Danuworlee, told journalists that their action is aimed at curtailing violence in the country.
"We are tired of news about arson attacks on properties and individuals. We don't want violence to be in our country. We want a peaceful country during and after this entire electoral process," she cried.
The women's advocate stressed the need for all Liberians to do all they can to maintain the fragile peace in the country for the enhancement of further development.
Mrs. Danuworlee warned Liberians to "keep the fragile peace we have and resort to legal recourse if anybody has problems with the electoral process."
