The coordinator of the organising commission of the activities of "Março/ Mulher" programme, general Joaquim Pereira Massano, said on Thursday in Luanda that the women are the main pillars of the construction processo f Angola, since the beginning of the liberation struggle and current phase of its self -affirmation.
The general said so while addressing the socialisation lunch aimed to pay homage to females militaries and civilian employees of the Ministry of the National Defence and Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), under the celebrations of programme dubbed March, women's month.
According to him, women are indispensable element in all aspects of social, economic and political development because they always accompanied their fellows and this why women deserve our affection, special attention and treatment.
The captain Amália Pereira, in the message, thanked for the homage and appealed to her fellows to continue committed to move ahead, aware of the economic, social and political problems that may not be resolved without the full involvement of women.
She called for continued investment in the education and capacity building of women, so that they may achieve higher posts in all domains of the society.
The ceremony counted on the presence of the FAA's General Chief of Staff, general Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, OMA secretary general, Luzia Inglês and MP Genoveva Lino, among other figures.
The cultural moment was enlivened by the singer Carina Silva, among other artists.
