Ustaz Abdulganiy, who is also the Chief Imam/Missioner of Islamic Youth League, Kuje Branch, made this known recently in Abuja at the Eid-Maolud celebration of the League, tagged, 'The role of women in society: Prophet Muhammed's example'.
"Within the Islamic tradition, women often have important roles to play. In fact, it was Khadija, who encouraged Prophet Muhammad to do Allah's work, while Aisha is considered as one of the most important transmitters of the hadiths or sayings of Prophet Muhammed," the scholar said.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Islamic Youth League, Abuja, Alhaji (Dr) Aliu Oyebamiji Akano, had noted that Muslim women had served actively in their communities and impacted on their societies positively.
Dr. Akano explained that from the earliest centuries of Islam, women have been scholars, leaders, and advisers, noting that some of them have distinguished themselves in various disciplines. He listed some of the achievements of the League to include the ongoing construction work on the N250 million ultra-modern mosque complex, which is at 90% completion stage and the upgrade of the League's school to meet the present day demands.
