Kenya has won the Commonwealth Businesswomen's Network award for including women in resource allocation and procurement processes.

In a statement on Thursday, Arif Zaman, Executive Director for CBW said the government has been pivotal in ensuring women are well represented in the bid to empower and enrich women.

"The award recognises an impact across the whole of Government, providing opportunities to women across the country and in different

sectors."

"This has now led to collaboration with CBW to establish the Commonwealth's - and world's first - Centre of Excellence for Women in

Procurement to help link women entrepreneurs to international procurement tenders."

Zaman said this is the first time the award has been won by a government and CBW will work with the Kenya to provide more opportunities for women.
