The vice governor of the central Huambo Province for social and political matters, Guilherme Tuluca, last Saturday in Calima commune, Huambo Municipality, said that rural women are fundamental in the process of boosting the agricultural sector, which in turn is a key element in the current diversification programmes of the country?s economy.
Delivering a speech at the provincial main act in celebration of the International Day of Rural Women, marked on 15 October, the official lauded rural women's commitment to their work and spirit of victory, further stressing that the government has been giving privilege, in its programmes, to actions turned to the improvement of the living conditions of this segment of society.
He went on to emphasise that the country's current economic situation represents an opportunity to invest in the diversification of the economy, which is dependent on crude-oil.
Guilherme Tuluca then stated that facilities in the access to land plots, education, social and economic inclusion are measures that the government has been implementing aimed to increasingly dignify rural women.
