First National Bank (FNB) recently handed over a sponsorship to the Namibia Women Association, a support group for women in Namibia. Ingrid Goeieman of FNB said: "FNB has been supporting the association,
formerly known as Vroue Landbou Vereniging for numerous years." The association was formed by the wives of farmers a few years ago. They came together to market and sell their goods such as home-made jam, juice and meat amongst each other and to the general public when the annual general meetings of farmers associations were held. "They have widened their scope and now include all women of Namibia interested in showing their talent while making extra money. We applaud this step and support them in their entrepreneurial endeavours," Goeieman said.
