Source:All Africa Birnin-Kebbi — Wife of the Kebbi State governor, Hajiya Asma'u Usman Dakingari has empowered over 1,200 women across the 21 local government areas of the state to enable them establish small scale businesses that would make them self-reliant.
Speaking at a special Sallah banquet for orphans, destitute and women in the state, Hajiya Asma'u said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of the less privileged in the society. The governor's wife, who congratulated the people of the state for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, expressed her readiness to assist the needy in the society. She urged well to do individuals in the state to assist the less privileged. The governor' wife also visited the VVF center in Birnin-Kebbi and the Amanawa Leprosy Centre in Kalgo.
