Make Every Woman Count (MEWC) is currently working on the 16 Days Actvism Campaign and we would like to hear the voices of young African women for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
We are looking for young African women who can write articles on the sub-theme of the campaign which we will be posting during the 16 days of activism. The goal will be to run an article discussing one or more of these themes from different African countries each day of the campaign. It extends from 25 November to 10 December. You can write on any of the sub-theme above.
This year's theme is: "From Peace at Home to Peace in the World: Let's Challenge Militarism and End Gender Based Violence" and it's five sub-themes include:
1. Bringing together women, peace, and human rights movements to challenge militarism
2. Proliferation of small arms and their role in domestic violence:
3. Sexual violence in and after conflict
4. Political violence against women, including Pre/During/Post-election violence
5. Sexual and gender-based violence committed by state agents, particularly the police or military
