FORMER Prime Minister's wife, Ida Odinga has asked expectant mothers in Nyanza region deliver their babies in health facilities. She said this will reverse the high infant and maternal mortalities.
Ida said some expectant mothers deliver at home leading to high infant and maternal mortality rates. "They should visit hospitals when their delivery dates are due," she said.
Ida was speaking when she visited Bondo district Hospital on Monday. "Pregnant women should also be attending clinics during their pregnancies, the antenatal care they get will ensure they do not experience complications at birth," she said.
