A 17-year-old girl died on Monday after trying to abort a pregnancy. The girl, a form two student at Lwala Mixed Secondary School, died while being treated at Migori Level Four Hospital.
Uriri police boss Daniel Mutie said police have arrested several suspects in connection with the death. Charles Omondi, the Kawere sublocation administrator said a quack doctor gave the girl the medicine for the attempted abortion.
