The women inhabitants of Foro sub-zone expressed that the health services they receive from the health center is contributing in ensuring their health and that of their children.
Ms. Kedija Derar and Ms. Mesuda Omar told ERINA that thanks to the awareness raising campaigns and health services women are giving birth at health facilities and that the prevalence of different diseases in general and mortality due to pregnancy and delivery in particular has dramatically reduced.
Mr. Mengisteab Tewolde, head of Ministry of Health branch, explained that training was provided to community health representatives in the sub-zone and that the efforts conducted in order the people who live in remote areas receive medical services were successful.
He further said that the delivery ward in the health center is contributing in reducing maternal and child mortality.
Mr. Mengisteab Tewold also expressed that because of the developed awareness the number of women giving birth at the health center is growing, and called on citizens to give due attention to their health and women to visit the health center during pregnancy and delivery to check their health condition.
