In line with the 2014 Commonwealth Day on the theme "Women as agents of change," the British High Commission in Yaounde has decided to set up a local scholarship scheme dubbed "The Cameroon Women's Scholarship."
According to a release from the British High Commission in Yaounde, the programme aims to train women with leadership potentials at Master Degree level within State Universities and Private Higher Learning Institutions. This is to empower the women to become active participants in the development of the country.
Unlike last year where five scholarships were awarded, the British High Commission in this second edition is offering ten scholarships worth FCFA one million each. The project is sponsored by the British High Commission and managed by the Cameroon Chevening Alumni Association (CAMCHEV).
