The President of the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE), Chief Adaeze Ozongwu has called for mutual and harmonious collaboration among women in the country in other to successfully champion their course and move the nation forward.
Chief Adaeze, who made the call on Friday during the association's 20th anniversary, urged women to come under a platform where they can speak with louder and bigger voices.
She said one of the mandates of her group is to create a platform where women can work together, advocate, network and empower one another for sustainability.
"Earlier, we were asking for 50/50 representation with our male counterpart by 2020 but now we are not even waiting till 2020. We are taking our destiny in our own hands. If there is no women there would be no Nigeria as a nation and we must let them recognize that," she said.
Adaeze explained that the purpose of the yearly celebration is to enable them to meet and assess their strengths, weaknesses and opportunities and reposition themselves to face the prevailing challenges and participate in a dynamic development.
In a good will message, the senator representing the Abia Central Senatorial District, and member of the association, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, noted that the key to economic progress anywhere in the world lies in unleashing women's potentials.
