The Constituent Assembly is tending to agree on the presence of two chambers of parliament with legislative powers and to appoint senior state officials after being named by the president, said head of the constitution-drafting body Hossam el-Gheriani.
Discussions at the Constituent Assembly are currently taking up the distribution of powers between the president and prime minister, Gheriani said during a meeting with a visiting Mongolian parliamentary delegation on Monday 8/10/2012.
The new constitution will grant the parliament the right to determine the coming parliamentary election system, whether it would be individual or party-based, he said.
He said that there will be no constitutional or legal objection before any woman wants to run for president, therefore, there is no problem on the issue of equality between women and men.
