About 50 families in Bushekeri sector in Nyamasheke district have finished a 4 days training on the Thursday the 17th.May.2012 that was prepared and given by the National Women Council (CNF).
This training was meant to change their understanding about family relationships, to get exemplary families in development projects and different government policies.
These 50 men and women that got the training were given different lessons including family planning, reproductive health, AIDS prevention and voluntary testing, how to solve family conflicts, they were explained about laws that punish abusive actions, children rights, inheritance rights, gifts and properties of the married couples.
They were also trained about joining cooperatives and to work with financial institutions, were taught about healthy and good eating habits and having general hygiene and sanitation.
Esperance Nyiranzeyimana the coordinator of CNF in western province of Rwanda while teaching about inheritance, giving gifts and the properties of the married couples, she said that they should always make a decision as a family which will reduce family conflicts and men should not feel like they are the head of families.
She asked them to put to practice what they learnt from this training and to tell their neighbours that did not attend this training about what they learnt.
This message was emphasized by Joachim Kabanda who is in charge of family promotion in Nyamasheke district who asked them to change the understanding of their neighbours depending on the training they were given on the government program of good social welfare and development of local people.
This training was attended by families experiencing family conflicts and those with many children and other families characterized with good relationships and who participated in family planning so as to give them their testimonies.
