The chairperson of the Women Parliamentarians Group, Rodeth Teresa Makina Gil, said Thursday in Luanda that the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF) has given women the opportunity to rise in various sectors of the professional and public activity.
The MP was speaking to Angop at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, short before leaving for Brazil, where she will attend the 15th WIDF Congress set for April 6-12, in Brasilia.
She said she is sure WIDF has given the nations the opportunity to wake up and grow in various fields.
Rodeth Gil stated that WIDF is an organisation that fights for women's rights and development in decision-making organs.
As to the event she will be attending, the MP said she will inform the female world about the existence of the Women Parliamentarians Group in Angola, what it does and will also exchange experience in various domains.
She recalled that her first contacts with the WIFD started in 1973 when she attended the first African conference held in Tanzania.
