In its effort to ensure that women participate in political governance, 50/50 collaborated with OXFAM GB of Sierra Leone and the All Political Parties' Women's Association APPWA to enhance women's participation in the 2012 elections by engendering the registration process.
Abato Davidson said the organization is keen to empower women to participate in the electioneering process to enable them achieve equal political leadership and decision-making power.
She said that together with Oxfam GB of Sierra Leone and the APPWA, the 50/50 Group would conduct registration- specific advocacy in Freetown to guarantee an increase in the number of women that would register for the elections.
TV and radio discussions, she said, would be conducted to explain the registration process while printing materials and public mobilization through literally transporting vulnerable women like the physically challenged, the aged and the pregnant women, would be made available.
She admonished women to rise up noting that it is their time to transform the country by doing the right thing to register saying that more women would result to better politics.
