The Ministry of Women held a meeting to support the Garowe Principles which was signed in Garowe on the 24th December 2011at the end of the Somali National Consultative Constitutional Conference, Radio Garowe reports.
Minister of Women Development and Family Affairs Asho Gelle, began the meeting by thanking the respected government officials that were key in making the Garowe Principles a signed document that will help end the transition.
Minister Asho then described to her audience how Parliament will have four years before electing new MPs and that women have 20 percent of the seats in Parliament.
She added the women who attended and those missing from this meeting being held in the Ministry of Women's hall, have been working hard and without that hard work the women and men of Somalia wouldn't have achieved this milestone.
Support for the Garowe Principles is growing; there are meetings like these being held across the world where people are discussing the outputs of this conference and what it means to Somalia.
