Hajiya Zainab Konchi, the only female candidate in the 2012 Adamawa governorship election, has kicked off her campaign with a call on the people of Adamawa not to sell their votes.
The ADC candidate, who made history by being the first female candidate to contest for governorship election in the state, urged the electorate to vote for her for positive change.
"I am going to spread wealth through equitable distribution of services to all as a major way of checking unemployment and insecurity."
"You should go back home and deliver the message house to house that the popular change our people are yearning for will be here if they vote for ADC,'' Konchi said.
The medical doctor, who served as the immediate past Commissioner for Health under Gov. Murtala Nyako, said she had no money to spread.
She said the N2million donated by the party would be for her local government campaign tour scheduled to begin after the Christmas festivity.
Her running mate, retired Capt. Gregory Goji, urged the party's supporters not to be intimidated by the fanciful campaigns of other political parties but to get to work by educating voters on the ADC candidate's commitment to selfless service.
Also speaking, the party's Chairman in the state, Mr Alfa Ephraim, expressed satisfaction with the rising profile of the ADC and its candidate, and urged the people of Adamawa to translate their support through votes.
Ephraim apologised for the inability of the National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph Nwosu, to attend the kick-off after missing his flight to Yola and announced the donation of N2 million to the candidate by the party.
The highlight of the campaign launch was a motorcade rally round major streets of the state capital by the candidate and her supporters.
